Armored Skeleton of St. Pancratius
Catacomb Saints are the bodies of ancient Christians who were carefully excavated from catacombs in Rome from the 16th century to the 19th century and buried in places of worship. They were usually decorated with gold and precious stones.
St. Pancratus (Latin: Sanctus Pancratius) was a non-Christian Roman citizen who embaraced Christianity around the age of fourteen, around 304 AD. He was beheaded and killed for his conversion to Christianity. After the death of him, he was considered as the first martyr of Christianity, and his skeleton was adorned with a silver armor made by a silversmith in Augsburg, Germany (In the 8th century).
This can be seen in St. Nicholas Church in Will, Switzerland.
